‘Shazam’ Star Jack Dylan Grazer Joins ‘Spiderwick Chronicles’ Disney+ Series

According to Variety, Jack Dylan Grazer has joined the Disney+ TV series Spiderwick Chronicles. Grazer joins Lyon Daniels, Noah Cottrell, Mychala Lee, Joy Bryant, and Christian Slater as a new cast members. The TV show will be based on the book series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. The book series also had a film release in 2008.
The description of the Spiderwick Chronicles series is as follows:
“follows the Grace family as they leave New York to move to Michigan into their ancestral home, The Spiderwick Estate. Twin brothers Jared and Simon, along with their sister Mallory and mom Helen, discover that magical creatures like fairies, ogres, trolls, boggarts and more are all real and hiding among us.”
Paramount Television Studios and 20th Century Studios will produce the series. Aron Eli Coleite will be the showrunner and executive producer. Kat Coiro will direct the first two episodes.

Grazer will be playing the character Thimbletack, a boggart that lives in the walls of the Spiderwick Estate. The character was played by Martin Short in the film. The character description is “hundreds of years old, Thimbletack is still a teenager amongst his kind, a mischief-maker with an explosive temper. He could be a great help to the Grace children…if only he could learn to control his own larger-than-life emotions.”
Grazer has had a stellar career for such a young age. He’s starred in Shazam! as Freddie Freeman and is set to reprise the role in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods in March 2023. Also, he starred in IT, Disney’s Luca, and Don’t Tell A Soul. He was also a part of the ensemble for HBO Max’s We Are Who We Are.
