‘Wonder Woman 3’ Not Moving Forward at DC Studios

DC Studios plans are still being mapped out, but The Hollywood Reporter has heard co-heads Peter Safran and James Gunn have figured out Wonder Woman 3 will not be moving forward.
Gunn and Safran were hired in October and are currently working on their overall plans, which haven’t been revealed to the general public yet. However, they’re already set on one thing, which is the fact that Wonder Woman 3 has no place in the future of DC Studios.
Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman, and Wonder Woman 1984, has reportedly recently submitted her script for Wonder Woman 3. However, the treatment, co-written with Geoff Johns, does not fit the new plans for the greater universe of DC. Now, the film could still be made but would need to align more with Gunn and Safran’s vision.
The news of this decision comes on the heels of Gadot tweeting out Tuesday, “Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you.” and how thankful she was to play the superhero. Unfortunately, the futures of Henry Cavill’s Superman and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman are also in doubt, as the studio may elect to completely reboot the DC Universe.
What did you think about this decision by DC Studios leads? Are you looking forward to the new DC Studios? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
