Cailee Spaeny To Star In New ‘Alien’ Movie In Development At 20th Century Studios

Five years after Alien: Covenant, a new Alien film seems to be on the horizon. The Craft: Legacy star Cailee Spaeny seems set to star in the film. Evil Dead (2013) director, Fede Alvarez, is directing the film with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free production company on board to produce.
Evidently, there is no known plot for the new film. We do not know if it will follow the Prometheus prequel timeline, the timeline of the original films, or a new timeline. Although, this film seems like it will feature the actual Xenomorphs. According to Deadline, 20th Century and Scott Free made this film a priority after hearing Alvarez’s pitch. There is also Noah Hawley’s FX TV Show Aliens coming soon as well. The film will begin filming in early 2023.

The studio has eyed Spaeny for the role for some time. The Alien franchise has always had a strong woman in the forefront. Spaeny joins Sigourney Weaver, Noomi Rapace, and Katherine Waterson as the leading ladies within the Alien franchise. It’s almost like a sci-fi badge of honor. They are in the process of casting, and early production.
Up next, Cailee Spaeny is starring in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla alongside Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi, who will play Elvis. She can also be seen in Alex Garland’s newest film Civil War. We will update you all as more information is released.
