Reynolds had previously commented that before the Disney-Fox acquisition, Deadpool 3 was planned to be a road trip movie featuring Wolverine. It is uncertain if the current iteration of the film will still involve that, but it is still great news for fans that Jackman will don the claws once again.
Shawn Levy is set to helm the highly anticipated sequel after collaborating with Reynolds in the past on Free Guy and Netflix’s The Adam Project. A first draft of the movie was penned by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, known for the animated series Bob’s Burgers. But most recently, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the previous two Deadpool films, have worked on the project.
