The anime’s first season was released in October 2018 and was animated by CloverWorks. A theatrical film sequel, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl, was released in 2019. Since then, fans have long hoped for a sequel, but it seemed unlikely at the time due to the limited content from the light novel left to be adapted. But it seems there is finally adequate material for the series to animate.
The sequel project will also be animated by CloverWorks and will adapt the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid storylines from the light novels. It was not confirmed when it will be released.
