‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ Spin-Off in the Works at Paramount Pictures

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is one of the most iconic films from not only the 80s but for John Hughes as well. The film helped launched Matthew Broderick’s stellar career. Well, if you’re a fan and you love spin-offs we have good news. Paramount Pictures along with the creators of Cobra Kai Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald will be producing a spin-off titled Sam and Victor’s Day Off, according to Deadline. Bill Posey will write the film.
The film will follow the valet drivers from the original film that took the Ferrari. They did not have names in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, but they were played by Richard Edson and Larry ‘Flash’ Jenkins. The film hasn’t cast the two titular characters yet, but names should surface for the roles soon.

Behind the scenes, Paul Young (Key and Peele) will produce the project through his Make Good Content banner along with Devon Young, who’ll directly oversee it. Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald will produce through their Counterbalance Entertainment banner with their head of development Dana Hillier. They are the creators, showrunners, and executive producers for Cobra Kai. They are also currently working on a new Netflix action-comedy series titled Obliterated and a new Karate Kid film for Sony Pictures.
