‘Uncharted 2’ Reportedly Greenlit By Sony

So it seems fans of Tom Holland’s take on Nathan Drake may be in luck. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Sony has greenlit a sequel to Uncharted.
Based on the iconic videogame franchise of the same name from Naughty Dog, Uncharted was directed by Ruben Fleischer and starred Holland, Mark Whalberg, Sophia Ali, and Antonio Banderas. In the film, Holland’s Drake was recruited by Whalberg’s Sully to locate the legendary treasure of the Magellan expedition.

The film’s post-credits scene did tease an appearance from Gabriel Roman, who fans of the games will remember from Drake’s Fortune. So it seems likely the sequel will adapt this storyline somehow or, more likely, put its own spin on it.
It should be noted Sony has not confirmed the news, so it should still be taken with a grain of salt. However, given the film’s moderately successful box office, it is not that unlikely the studio would order a sequel.
