The teaser for the highly anticipated sequel Avatar: The Way of Water has leaked online. The teaser footage was first aired at CinemaCon but has now surfaced ahead of its official release.

The teaser, while not the best quality showcases the exciting return to James Cameron’s Pandora. 2009’s Avatar implemented groundbreaking filmmaking techniques so it will be interesting to see how this sequel sets itself apart from its predecessor.

Fans will have an opportunity to see the teaser in theaters alongside Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The film itself is due to release in theaters on December 16. It will feature the return of many stars from the original film including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver. Based on prior reports Avatar: The Way of Water and the other sequels will have standalone stories so it will be exciting to see how that plays out in the film.
