Warner Bros. Announces Sequel To ‘The Batman’

With a box office tally of over $750 million worldwide, it shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone that Warner Bros. and DC announced that The Batman 2 has been added to their slate of upcoming feature films.
The studio and production company made the announcement on the final day of teases at CinemaCon. Warner Bros. Chairman Toby Emmerich made the official announcement alongside director Matt Reeves, citing Reeves’ film as a “fresh vision that clearly resonated with audiences,” per the report.

The Batman hit theaters well over a month ago, now, but its success, influence, and intrigue are still on the tips of everyone’s tongues as we head into the summer. For many film journalists and movie-goers, this latest Caped Crusader’s stark contrast in tone and content provided a welcome far cry from most superhero flicks that hit the big screen. Even those who were hesitant about Robert Pattinson’s casting as Bruce Wayne have tossed the actor his flowers for his dedicated performance.
Plot details for The Batman 2 are scarce, but rumors are still a-plenty. Moreover, this sequel joins a growing list of work that’s being squeezed out of Reeves’ and Bat-Pat’s first outing. Earlier this year, Colin Farrell was announced to star in his own Penguin series for HBO Max. Additionally, a Gotham City Police Department spin-off was announced before being reworked into a series about the horror lurking behind the dilapidated walls of Gotham’s most infamous institution, Arkham Asylum.
The Batman 2 does not have a confirmed release date at this time.
