‘Percy Jackson’ Disney+ Show Casts Walker Scobell As Lead

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has found its Percy Jackson. The Adam Project star, Walker Scobell, has nabbed the titular role in the upcoming Disney+ series.
The series will adapt Rick Riordan’s beloved book series for the streaming service, primarily, “The Lightning Thief,” and focus on the titular 12-year-old demigod as he comes to terms with his powers all while under accusations of stealing Zeus’ lightning bolt. The pilot episode is written by Rick Riordan and directed by James Bobbin (The Muppets). Riordan’s books have been adapted before in 2010’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
