Amazon has found another star to join the cast of their upcoming Fallout series. According to Deadline, actress Ella Purnell has been tapped to join Walton Goggins in the show.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future that’s a mix of 1940s Americana and a radioactive landscape, the first game in the series was released in 1997. The games follow protagonists who have survived in fallout shelters called vaults as they venture into a world ravaged by a global nuclear war in 2077.
Purnell’s character is being kept under wraps, but she is believed to be playing the lead. She is being referred to as Jean, a young woman with a can-do attitude who has a dangerous secret.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are set to serve as showrunners. Johnathan Nolan will direct the show’s pilot and executive produce alongside Athena Wickham for Kilter Films, Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios’ and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks.
The actress has served as a series regular in the Showtime series Yellowjackets. In addition, she has appeared in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead and the Starz series Sweetbitter.
