Sydney Sweeney Cast In Sony’s ‘Madame Web’ Movie

The Euphoria to superhero film pipeline doesn’t exist, but let’s pretend that it’s real for just one moment. According to a Deadline exclusive, star-on-the-rise Sydney Sweeney is reportedly set to join Dakota Johnson in Sony Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man spin-off, Madame Web.
Per the report, Sweeney has been cast in an undisclosed supporting role to Johnson’s turn as the sickly and mysterious psychic, Madame Web. Fans of comics and the Spider-Man animated television series know the precognitive mutant as an all-seeing guide to the web-head on some of his toughest outings. However, exactly which iteration of the live-action Spider-Man the character will help—if the pair cross paths at all—is unknown at this time.

As for Sweeney, what else can be said other than her casting here is but another giant leap forward. In what seems like mere months, Sweeney has taken Hollywood, and Twitter, by storm. She’s been acting for just over a decade, but scene-stealing roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus have garnered her praise as far as social media will carry.
Sweeney has an equally impressive resume outside of HBO. The rising star has supporting roles in streaming and Oscar-winning features, like Hulu’s Big Time Adolescence and Quentin Tarantino’s ode to the city of angels, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Sweeney will be seen next in Tony Tost’s crime drama, National Anthem, alongside her Euphoria co-star Eric Dane.
There is no confirmed release date for Madame Web at this time.
