Third ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Film & Live-Action ‘Knuckles’ TV Series In The Works for Paramount & Paramount+

The second installment of the Sonic the Hedgehog film series releases April 8th. However, this has not stopped Sega Corporation and Paramount Pictures from growing this universe. According to Deadline, a third Sonic film has been greenlit, and a series for Knuckles is also in development.
Of course, there is little to no information on the third Sonic film. Due to the first film’s success, Paramount has greenlit a third film. The first Sonic film broke multiple box office records, including being one of the highest-grossing video game films ever. The news came today at the Viacom Investor’s Event courtesy of Brian Robbins, the President, and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon. His titles also include Chief Content Officer Movies, Tv, and Family – Paramount+.

The other news that came today in the Sonic world was about a particular Echidna, Knuckles. The live-action show will be the first Sonic series on Paramount+ and will bring back Idris Elba as the character. Elba will star in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as Knuckles. This will definitely be a great add to Paramount+ and a way to expand the Sonic Universe. The show will debut in 2023.
Sonic the Hedgehog is one of Sega Corporation’s most iconic characters. The video game premiered in 1991, and has been one of the most popular games ever. The character had a TV show in the early 90s as well. The first film starring Jim Carrey and James Marsden debuted in February 2020. This is a universe being built by Paramount and ever expanding.
