Looks like Santa came a little late this year. Tim Allen will be returning to the infamous red and white suit for the upcoming limited series The Santa Clause for Disney+.
Allen will be executive producing and starring in the upcoming show and will be reuniting with his Last Man Standing creator Jack Burditt, who is also serving as a producer. Below is a quick synopsis from the Walt Disney Company:
“Scott Calvin (Allen) is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.”
Production on the series will begin in March. No other information is known at this time.
Allen portrayed the role of Scott Calvin, an uptight lawyer who eventually becomes Santa Clause through a magical loophole, in three films. The 1994 film, The Santa Clause, spawned two sequels, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.
