Dave Bautista Joins M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Knock At The Cabin’

There are few names in the filmmaking business that inspire the kind of dread and gleeful hype that M. Night Shyamalan’s brings. Well, get ready to rejoice or pull the hairs out of your head, because he’s back and bringing one of Hollywood’s favorite hulking men with him.
According to a Deadline exclusive, Dave Bautista is the first star to board the director’s upcoming picture, Knock at the Cabin. As expected with all things Shyamalan, plot details for the film are shrouded in secrecy. However, given a title that references a classic horror setting, we can only expect another round of welcomingly convoluted terror to accompany Bautista in Shyamalan’s latest.

Following his breakout success in Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista has just about refused to be pigeonholed into roles that other former wrestling stars have forged their careers on. Once you’ve seen him embody the persona of an antagonistic brute, à la Spectre and Dune, he shifts the tide with a deceptively nuanced performance that leaves you begging for more, like in Blade Runner 2049. Bautista’s made it his mission to keep audiences completely out of the loop when it comes to who he’ll work with next, and his starring role in Knock at the Cabin should prove to be no exception.
Shyamalan’s still riding high off the $90 million success that his supernatural island thriller, Old, raked in earlier this year. The bookend to his unconventional superhero trilogy, Glass, also pulled in a generous sum—$247 million worldwide, to be exact—while alienating the masses along the way.
Knock at the Cabin will be released on February 3, 2023.
