Steve Conrad To Pen ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel ‘Tales Of Dunk And Egg’

HBO has found a writer to pen its new Game of Thrones prequel series. Variety has reported that Steve Conrad has been tapped to serve as writer and executive producer on the show.
The series takes place 90 years prior to Game of Thrones and focuses on the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and a young Aegon V Targaryen. In January, it was first announced that a show based on George R. R. Martin’s series of novellas was in the works.

This is one of many new series HBO is looking to expand their Game of Thrones universe with. Currently, the prequel series House of the Dragon is set to premiere in 2022, and a number of other series are in development, including 10,000 Ships and Sea Snake. In addition, several animated shows set in the universe are in the works for HBO Max.
Conrad has previously created the Amazon series Patriot as well as the EPIX series Perpetual Grace LTD. He has also worked on the AMC series Ultra City Smiths and is well known for writing The Pursuit of Happyness, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Wonder.
