Releasing in 2018, Black Panther follows King T’Challa’s ascension to the throne of Wakanda. The film became a cultural phenomenon and went on to gross over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. With seven Oscar nominations, it is the first superhero film to receive a Best Picture nomination and the first MCU film to win an Academy Award.
Much of the sequel remains a mystery, with several rumors circulating about the plot. Some claim the film will feature Namor as the movie’s antagonist, while others suggest it could be Doctor Doom. Additionally, it seems the picture will have Shuri take on the role of Black Panther after the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman. For now, though, fans will have to speculate what the movie has in store for them and the MCU.
Black Panther 2 will release on May 6, 2022.
