Created by the minds behind Marvel’s “Powerman and Iron Fist” David F. Walker and Sanford Greene alongside indie comics veteran Chuck Brown, “Bitter Root” is an action adventure filled with monsters, chaos, and dysfunctional family drama. Set during the 1920s Harlem Renaissance, the story follows an African-American family of formerly prestigious monster hunters that end up having to defend New York City from a force of unimaginable evil. As Image Comics puts it, “The Sangerye Family must heal the wounds of the past and move beyond their differences… or sit back and watch a force of unimaginable evil ravage the human race.”.
The first issue of the ongoing series is available to read for free here!
