‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2′ Set Photos Reveal Knuckles’ Look In The Film

New images from the set of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 have revealed the first look at the cast and a surprising character. The new photos have not only confirmed Knuckles will appear but have also revealed his look in the film.

Debuting in the Sega Genesis game Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in 1994, Knuckles is a red short-beaked echidna and is often depicted as an adversary of Sonic. However, the character quickly gained popularity and grew a large enough fanbase to get marquee billing in 1994’s Sonic & Knuckles. Knuckles is a staple of the sonic media franchise, appearing in comics, video games, and animated series.

It was long rumored that Knuckles would appear alongside Sonic and Tails in the film, but this Is the first confirmation of his inclusion. Currently, it is unknown how large a role his character will have in the film but based on the set photo, he will be involved in a kind of battle scene. Additionally, based on the model seen in the image above, Knuckles does not have the white boomerang symbol on his chest. This could be a design that will be added later, but for now, it seems he will sport a fully red body.

The upcoming sequel will see Jeff Fowler return as a director with Pat Casey and Josh Miller penning the script. Additionally, Ben Schwartz, who voiced Sonic in the first movie, will also return. Moreover, his co-star James Marsden revealed in March that he had already signed on for multiple Sonic films. Finally, Sega executives Hajime Satomi and Haruki Satomi will serve as executive producers alongside Deadpool director Tim Miller.
