Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion series on Disney+ has reportedly tapped a Marvel veteran. According to The DisInsider, Michael Giacchino will compose the series.
Giacchino has scored several other Marvel projects, including Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. He is also known for his work on War for the Planet of the Apes and Jojo Rabbit. Most recently, he served as composer for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
Announced during The Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Investor Day presentation by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Secret Invasion is a new series that will see Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn reprise their roles as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. In the comics, Secret Invasion focused on the invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, an event that saw several key heroes replaced by Skrull sleeper agents. It remains to be seen how closely the show will follow the comics, so for now, fans are left to speculate.
In addition to Secret Invasion, Feige announced a number of other Disney+ projects from Marvel Studios. Included in his announcement were Ironheart, Armor Wars, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and I Am Groot.
