Riri Williams & Justin Hammer Will Reportedly Appear In ‘Armor Wars’

Don Cheadle may not be alone in his upcoming series, Armor Wars, on Disney+. According to insider Daniel Richtman, both Riri Williams and Justin Hammer will appear in the show.

Announced during The Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Investor Day presentation by Kevin Feige, president, Marvel Studios, and chief creative officer, Armor Wars is an upcoming series based on the Marvel Comics event of the same name. In the show, Cheadle’s James Rhodes will have to face the consequences of what happens when Tony Stark’s technology falls into the wrong hands.

In the comics, Tony Stark had to figure out who stole his designs and sold his technology to his enemies. Eventually, the Armored Avenger discovers that it was Justin Hammer who had gotten his hands on his armor. So it seems the series will follow this same storyline but with Rhodey in the lead role. Given the storyline, it serves as the perfect opportunity for Sam Rockwell’s Hammer to return to the MCU. And could even set up his involvement with the Thunderbolts later on.

As for Riri Williams, Ironheart will most likely release before Armor Wars, so her appearing in the series would help her segway into future MCU projects. While she was trained in the comics by a hologram AI of Tony Stark, it seems likely Rhodey will take on this role for her in the series.
