RUMOR: HBO Max May Pick Up ‘Swamp Thing’ For A Second Season

Fans of DC Universe’s Swamp Thing may be in luck. According to Lance Ausfresser of the Swamp Thing Facebook Group, there have been talks of HBO Max picking up the series for a second season.
Swamp Thing was the only DC Universe original series to be canceled prior to the shows moving to HBO Max and The CW. The early cancelation left the series unfinished and forced the showrunners to wrap the story up sooner than anticipated. Since the series wrapped, fans have petitioned for it to get picked up by another streamer.

Now according to Ausfresser, it seems like it may finally be happening. During a Facebook live chat, he revealed that there are talks of Swamp Thing moving to HBO Max for a second season. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from DC or Warner Bros. however, Ausfresser’s sources have been credible in the past.
HBO Max was a great fit for DC’s Doom Patrol, so there’s little doubt the streamer would be able to support Swamp Thing. Additionally, given they are hosting J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Justice League Dark series, they would be able to set up that series with Swamp Thing, which was DC Universe’s original plan.
