Oscar Isaac Cast As Solid Snake In Sony’s ‘Metal Gear Solid’ Film

The Metal Gear Solid film has finally gained some momentum based on new casting. According to Deadline, Oscar Isaac has been cast Solid Snake in Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ live-action adaptation.
First launched in 1987, Metal Gear Solid follows Snake, a skilled soldier who set out to neutralize a renegade special forces unit. Created by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami, the franchise has received acclaim from fans and critics alike for its cinematic storytelling.

Derek Connolly is writing the script for the project with Avi Arad set to produce. There is no confirmation on when production will begin, but given Isaac’s busy schedule, it seems likely it will not be for some time.
Isaac is well known for starring as Poe Dameron in Disney’s Star Wars. Additionally, he is set to play the title role in Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, Moon Knight. Fans can see him next in the new Dune reboot, which will release in theaters and on HBO Max in 2021.
