Josh Hutcherson & Liev Schreiber To Star In ‘Across The River And Into The Trees’ Adaptation

Per the initial report, Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson and Ray Donovan‘s Liev Schreiber will lead the film’s cast. Moreover, Sabrina Impacciatore is boarding the project as its female lead as well. The film is based on Ernest Hemingway’s 1950 novel Across the River and Into the Trees and will begin production in Italy this month.
The story follows 50-year-old Colonel Richard Cantwell, played by Schreiber. As he recalls impactful moments throughout his life, he is diagnosed with a terminal heart condition. Moreover, the film follows his romance with Venetian Renata, whom he confides his wartime stories to as they deal with his impending death. It spent 7 weeks at the top of The New York Times bestseller’s list and was Hemingway’s only novel to top the list.

Meanwhile, Liev Schreiber continues his award-winning ways with a bevy of acclaimed projects. After lending his voice to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Schreiber will next appear on the big screen in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch.
