Ysa Penarejo To Play Jade In Season 2 Of ‘Stargirl’

DC’s Stargirl is adding another legacy character to its roster in the upcoming season. According to Lance Ausfresser of the Stargirl Facebook Group, Ysa Penarejo will portray Jade in season 2.
Introduced in 1983’s All-Star Squadron #25, Jade was created by Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway. The daughter of Alan Scott and Rose Canton, Jade, developed metahuman powers due to her father’s exposure to magical energies. Her abilities closely resembled her father’s in that she could generate green energy and create constructs. After her and her brother were rejected by the JSA, they became founding members of Infinity, Inc.

According to Ausfresser, she will be appearing very early in the season. She was supposedly hinted at on paper in the season 1 finale, so it will be exciting to see how she is introduced to the fans. Additionally, Jade will not be the only new character joining the likes of Stargirl and the Justice Society of America.
Penarejo has previously appeared in the TV movies The Secret Lives of Cheerleaders and Kirby Buckets. She is also known for her roles in the Project Mc² and Richie Rich.
