Sony Television Developing Live-Action Marvel Series Featuring Silk

The Spider-Man Universe at Sony is growing. A live-action television series focused on Silk is in development at Sony Television.
According to Variety, Sony is in negotiations to bring on Lauren Moon to write. Moon’s past projects included Freeform series’ Good Form and Netflix series’ Atypical. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the Oscar-winning animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, will produce the series along with former Sony Pictures President, Amy Pascal.
Cindy Moon, who portrays Silk, is a Korean American who is a classmate of Peter Parker’s. After Moon gets bit by a radioactive spider, she gets multiple abilities that allow her to shoot webs out of her fingertips and move at super speed. She also has an advanced spider-sense known as Silk Sense.
This would not be Moon’s first appearance in live-action as Tiffany Espensen played the role in Spider-Man: Homecoming.Â
Silk currently does not have a home yet, but according to Variety, Amazon is in negotiations to land the project. If Sony Television and Amazon are able to come to a deal, it is possible other future Marvel projects, based on characters that Sony controls, may also land at Amazon.
