Michael Dowse To Direct ‘Just Cause’ Film Adaptation

Constantin Film and Prime Universe have landed a director to helm the big-screen adaptation of the best selling video game Just Cause. According to Deadline, Michael Dowse has signed on to direct the film.
Released in 2006, Just Cause is an action-adventure game with an open world environment. The game follows Rico Rodriguez on assignment from the Agency to stop the mercenary group The Black Hand. Drawing its name from the United States invasion of Panama code-named “Operation Just Cause” the series has a signature agent of chaos approach.

The film is currently being scripted by Derek Kolstad, who previously worked on the John Wick trilogy. Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer and Prime Universe Film’s Adrian Askarieh and Kolstad will produce. Additionally, Constantin’s Martin Moszkowicz. and Square Enix will be the executive producers, and Constantin’s Alex Westmore and Colin Scully are overseeing.
Dowse has most recently directed the action-comedy Stuber, which starred Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani. He is also well known for Goon starring Sean William Scott and Jay Baruchel.
