Margot Robbie To Star In Female-Fronted ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Film

Margot Robbie is going to set sail in an all-new Pirates of the Caribbean for Disney. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robbie will star in a new female-fronted Pirates film.
The movie will see Robbie re-team with Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) writer Christina Hodson. Longtime Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer is attached to produce.

The project is currently in early development, but it is not intended to be a spinoff of the original franchise. Instead, the movie will have a wholly original story with new characters. Additionally, this new film is separate from the previously announced reboot being developed by Ted Elliot and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin.
This film, in addition to the reboot, indicates that Disney has renewed faith in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, given they are open to producing two different Pirates films at once.
