Tom Cruise & Elon Musk’s SpaceX In Talks To Film Action Movie In Space

Few actors in modern-day Hollywood work as hard to make unbelievable action movies like Tom Cruise. The star’s work is famous for pulling off his own stunt work in epic, large-scale movies like The Mummy and the entire Mission Impossible franchise. Now, as first reported by Deadline, the actor is having discussions with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to produce a movie set and filmed in space.
Per the initial report, no movie studio is on-board with the idea yet. However, the deal is in its early stages with Cruise set to star in the space adventure. Additionally, SpaceX will look to work with NASA to gain the resources necessary for such an audacious idea.

SpaceX’s history begins in 2002 by Elon Musk with the goal of reducing space transportation costs to enable the colonization of Mars. Since then, the company has funded a bevy of personal trips to space. Moreover, they’ve launched contracts with various world governments and the world space-exploration leader NASA. Additionally, Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest men, owns an electric vehicle and clean energy company Tesla, Inc.
Tom Cruise has had a career that has taken him everywhere at this point except space. The iconic actor last appeared as Ethan Hunt in 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Next, the star will reprise his role as Maverick in the long-awaited Top Gun sequel, currently set for a December 2020 release.
