DC Universe’s ‘Stargirl’ Spoiler-Free Review (Video)

Thanks to WB, we were fortunate enough to watch the first three episodes of DC Universe’s next original series, Stargirl. Listen to our spoiler-free thoughts before the series premieres on DC Universe on May 18th and the CW on the 19th.
Hailing from DC Comics veteran Geoff Johns, the upcoming superhero show finally reaches the potential the streaming service has been striving for all this long. Our hosts Marcos Melendez, Katie Gilstrap, and Ernesto Valenzuela detail their opinions on the series as they desperately try not to spoil anything along the way.
Listen to the review below:
DC’s STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. The project focuses on the character that started executive producer Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister, who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.
The series stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitemore, Joel McHale as Starman, Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan, Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman, Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Rex Tyler, Brian Stapf as Ted Grant with Anjelika Washington, Neil Jackson, Hunter Sansone as Icicle Jr., Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez, Christopher James, and Jake Austin Walker as Brainwave Jr.
Stargirl premieres on DC Universe on May 18 and The CW on May 19.
