‘Stargirl’ Concept Art Reveals New Look At Yvette Monreal’s Wildcat

With DC Universe’s Stargirl not set to premiere until next month, fans have been looking for something new regarding the highly anticipated series. Luckily Gina DeDomenico Flanagan, the costume concept artist for the show, has posted a new look at Yvette Monreal as Wildcat.
Created by Roy Thomas, Dannette Thomas, and Don Newton, Yolanda Montez first appeared in Infinity Inc. #12 in March of 1985. As a child, Yolanda manifests superhuman abilities that were caused by experiments conducted on her mother, Maria, by the villain Doctor Love while she was pregnant. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Yolanda’s godfather, Ted Grant, aka Wildcat, is injured, which leads to her assuming his identity as a hero and joining a second-generation team of heroes known as Infinity, Inc.

This is by no means the first look at Wildcat. Back in Aug. of 2019, a look at the actress on set surfaced along with a few other cast members. However, this concept art is the best look yet at the hero’s design.
Hailing from Geoff Johns, Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama will reimagine Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.
