Miles Teller In Talks To Star In ‘Escape From Spiderhead’

It appears that Miles Teller has lined up his next project following Top Gun: Maverick. According to Daniel Richtman, the star is in talks to play the lead role in Joseph Kosinski’s Escape From Spiderhead.
Based on the short story by George Saunders, Escape From Spiderhead is set in the near future, when convicts are offered the chance to volunteer as medical subjects in hopes of shortening their sentences. When one prisoner finds himself the test patient for a new pharmaceutical capable of generating feelings of love, he begins questioning the reality of his emotions and sets out to discover the truth.

Richtman revealed on his Patreon that Teller is currently in talks to star in the film. If cast, the star will play Jeff, a prisoner in this futuristic setting who is charged with second-degree murder. He voluntarily participates in drug trials until he finds himself at odds with the program.
Teller will reteam with Kosinski, who is currently helming Top Gun: Maverick. The screenplay was written by Deadpool and Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
The film is being developed by Netflix and is set to start filming in New Mexico on March 30.
