New details are beginning to emerge about Marvel Studios’ upcoming blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder. According to insider Daniel Richtman, not only will the Guardians of the Galaxy appear in the film, but Rocket Raccoon will play a supporting role in the movie.
Comicbook’s Brandon Davis revealed in an interview with Vin Diesel that the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in Taika Watiti’s Love and Thunder. At the time, it was unknown how large of a role the team of misfits would have in the film, but it seems now fans may have a partial answer.
Richtman revealed on his Patreon that Rocket will have a supporting role in the film, which makes sense given his history with Thor. Rocket was one of only two Guardians who accompanied Thor to Nidavellir to help retrieve Stormbreaker and take on Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Then, in Avengers: Endgame Rocket traveled back in time with Thor to 2013 to help the Asgardian retrieve the Aether from Asgard.
Therefore, given Rocket has worked with Thor in the past, it makes sense he will join the God of Thunder yet again. Which given Rocket and Groot have been a package set in the MCU, it could be possible we will also see the latter play a similar role in the film.
Are you excited to see Rocket Raccoon have a supporting role in Thor: Love and Thunder? How large of a role do you think the other Guardians of the Galaxy will play in the film? Let us know in the comments below!
Thor: Love and Thunder releases in theaters on November 5, 2021.
