Earlier today, a potential video from the set of Matt Reeves’ The Batman surfaced online. While it is difficult to ascertain what is happening in the footage, it seems that it is teasing The Penguin’s forces.
In the footage, a man can be seen jogging through the park until he is attacked by a group of men with some interesting face paint. The actors in the scene can be seen with black and white markings that resemble that of a penguin. It seems that these men may be part of The Penguin’s, played by Colin Farrell, forces in Gotham. The video of the scene can be seen below:
It has been reported that The Batman will take place during Bruce Wayne’s second year under the cowl. Given this timing, the Penguin may very well have amassed a significant force in Gotham City.
The upcoming DC film will have Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne face off against prominent members of the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery. The film also stars Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Matt Reeves is directing based on his own script.
Last year, Pattinson spoke with Variety in a tell-all interview about the film’s direction. “I really like Matt Reeves and his setup for it. It’s an interesting direction,” the titular star explained. “It’s something from the comics which hasn’t really been explored yet. It’s crazy shoes to fill. It’s interesting the different directions you can take with it and that the, in some ways, quite a specific character actually has a lot of leeway. When you look at the different tones of the movies and TV shows, you can do quite a lot with it.”
