Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Ms. Marvel is yet to announce who will play the fan-favorite character, but it seems they are working on casting the supporting cast. According to The Illuminerdi, the show will introduce Red Dagger and the Inhuman Kamran.
One of Marvel’s most anticipated series, Ms. Marvel, will introduce the beloved young heroine Kamala Khan to audiences and the MCU in the near future. But a new report has confirmed that the series will also introduce the Inhumans. Now, a new casting call has revealed that both Red Dagger and the young Inhuman Kamran will be introduced on the show.
Created by G. Willow Wilson and Mirka Andolfo Red Dagger, aka Kareem was first introduced in Ms. Marvel #12 in 2016. A distant family friend of the Khan’s, Kareem uses his proficiency with throwing knives to protect the people of Pakistan.
Created by G. Willow Wilson and Takeshi Miyazawa, Kamran first appeared in Ms. Marvel #13 in 2015. In the comics, he is a childhood friend of Kamala who moved away at a young age. Eventually, he and his family moved back home, where he was exposed to the same Terrigen Mist that activated Kamala’s Inhuman abilities. Unlike Ms. Marvel, Kamran decided to use his biokinetic powers for evil.
According to the casting calls, the characters will retain much of their nature from the comics. Kareem and Kamala will reportedly develop an undeniable romantic connection while Kamran is described as a morally corrupt Inhuman.
Currently, Marvel has made no official announcements concerning casting, but they will most likely go with unknowns given the young age of the characters. It will be exciting for fans of the comics to see these characters come to life on Disney+, and perhaps this could mean other Inhumans will appear on the show.
