Crossbones May Return In A Future Marvel Project

With Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 set to introduce the multiverse, it seems fans may see the surprising return of a familiar face. According to MCU Cosmic, Marvel is looking to bring Crossbones back in a future project.
As stated in the report, the multiverse will open the doors to many ideas and concepts from the comics, the most notable being that no one is ever truly dead. Frank Grillo’s Brock Rumlow most recently appeared in Avengers: Endgame through time travel. But it seems that may not be the last of Crossbones in the MCU.

Marvel is reportedly looking to bring the character back in some way. The specifics are currently unknown, but the most likely scenario is through an alternate universe introduced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Perhaps Strange will encounter an alternate version of the villain during his solo outing across the multiverse or a different iteration could make his way into the central Marvel universe. As MCU Cosmic suggested, this would open Crossbones up as a villain for Sam Wilson’s Captain America.
Ultimately, as of now, it is too early to tell how Marvel will revive the character. What is exciting is that if the studio is open to Crossbones returning in a future project, they may bring others back as well. For instance, it has been rumored Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver will return in the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision.
