Leonardo DiCaprio & Robert De Niro To Star In Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’

During the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, Robert De Niro was honored with this year’s Life Achievement Award. The honor was presented to De Niro by another iconic actor Leonardo DiCaprio. During his speech, DiCaprio confirmed that he will team with De Niro in Martin Scorcese’s upcoming next project, Killers of the Flower Moon.
Both DiCaprio and De Niro are longtime collaborators of Scorcese. Previously, DiCaprio starred in Scorcese’s Gangs of New York, The Wolf of Wall Street, and The Aviator. Additionally, the filmmaker worked with De Niro on Goodfellas, The King of Comedy, and most recently, The Irishman. The latter is earning both a litany of award nominations this year.

This will be the first time the three cinematic icons team for a feature-length film. However, Scorsese directed both stars in a 2015 short film The Audition, a comedic take prolific actors competing for the lead role in Scorsese’s next picture.
The film will be a live-action adaptation of Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. Written by David Grann, the 2017 novel tells the true story of the Osage Nation murders in the early 1920s. Additionally, the screenplay is by A Star is Born and Forrest Gump scribe Eric Roth. The film will reportedly go into production in March and receive a 2021 release.
