Leaked ‘Morbius’ Still References Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man

The SUMC’s rumored connection to the MCU may be more than hearsay. A leaked image from the upcoming Morbius trailer seemingly references Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man.
The still, which comes via Emre Kaya on Twitter, features Jared Leto’s titular character in what appears to be a prison jumpsuit. Appearing next to him, though, is a painting of Spidey that resembles Maguire’s look in the older films. Check it out below:

The most noteworthy thing in the image is the “murderer” text written over the art. This could be a reference to the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where Peter Parker’s identity was outed, and he was accused of killing Mysterio. If that’s the case, it’s possible the painting is just a nod to a previous iteration of the Wall-Crawler.

Morbius will focus on Dr. Michael Morbius as he tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease. However, inadvertently, he turns himself into a living vampire. Leto stars as the titular monster and will face off against Matt Smith’s Loxias Crown.
