DC Universe’s ‘Stargirl’: First Look At S.T.R.I.P.E. Revealed

In addition to the teaser released earlier this week, you can finally get a decent look at S.T.R.I.P.E. in DC Universe’s Stargirl.
The following image comes courtesy of the Stargirl Facebook Group, the same source that revealed a number of the character debuting on the upcoming series. If you’re not familiar, S.T.R.I.P.E. is the robotic armor that Courtney Whitmore’s stepfather Pat Dugan wears as a superhero.
It was heavily rumored that the production built a real-life version of the suit upwards of 20-feet tall. The picture reveals the leg portion of the armor next to a ladder in order to compare height. CGI will be used to produce a moving version when Dugan is commanding the suit alongside Stargirl.
Luke Wilson plays Dugan, the former longtime sidekick Stripesy to Joel McHale’s Sylvester Pemberton, the adult Star-Spangled Kid (Starman). Dugan will ditch the striped threads in his adult life for some robot armor under the name S.T.R.I.P.E., which will indeed be practical in the upcoming series.

Hailing from Geoff Johns, Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama will reimagine Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.
