This is a non-spoiler review for the penultimate episode of TITANS Season 2, ‘Faux-Hawk’ Check out our spoiler review on our YouTube channel HERE or catch up with our review of the eleventh episode, ‘E.L._O.’, HERE.
‘Faux-Hawk’ is an enjoyable episode, with many fight sequences that are very well done. There are some pretty good character interactions, with some great character development involved for Hank. The journey to Nightwing is also what is discussed, with some stringing along and burned fruitcake. It is highly frustrating to see this keep occurring. I feel like the journey to Nightwing has been such like TITANS as a whole. It is one big metaphor that the writers keep dangling, with different twists and turns. It is episodes like ‘Faux-Hawk’ that the show dangles in front of us as a tease to the potential of the show as a whole. The comedy, the development of so many characters, this episode is very good.
As always, one thing ‘Faux-Hawk’ matches up with to previous episodes is the number of characters involved. There are numerous angles taken in order to accomplish the Rose, Deathstroke, Hawk, Kory, and Dick development. As such, it holds the momentum up in order to lead to a truly successful penultimate episode. The suit development scene is where I want TITANS to be, but right now it is a coin toss. Donna and Dawn are in this episode, but honestly I don’t remember the scenes they were in. Cut that part off and give me more Nightwing. Stop dangling the true potential of TITANS, and give us the money shot. It’s hard to stick around for a show that is so inconsistent in production. TITANS needs to produce in order to pull people in for it’s third season.
