‘Titans’ S2, E10: “Fallen” Review – “You Have My Attention Again”

“After his intentional attack on two police officers results in his arrest, Dick finally finds peace in a Nevada prison. But the hero he’s left behind has not been buried forever. Meanwhile, Rachel befriends a runaway girl and takes her under her wing – only to find that her own powers might not fully be under her control. Back at Titans Tower, Conner and Krypto reunite with Gar, but when Mercy Graves sets her sights on retrieving “Subject 13″ for Cadmus, Gar finds himself caught in the crossfire.” – TITANS season 2, episode 10 ‘Fallen’ Synopsis

‘Fallen’ tackles the TITANS version of the backstory behind Dick Grayson’s transformation from Robin, into Nightwing. And while it takes certain liberties with the source material, I rather enjoyed the take. It’s fresh, and shows a turning point for Grayson that he wouldn’t have reached had the screenwriters try taking the traditional approach. It hopefully fits in their overall goal for season 2, in which they’ve taken on a lot.
Potter really shines as Beast Boy in this episode. It’s frustrating to have seen him take a back seat this season. I’m grateful to finally see him lead a couple of episodes. Him being pulled into Cadmus by Graves is an interesting twist. Speaking of Graves, Natalie Gumede is absolutely rocking her portayal of Lex Luthor’s assistant. She is scary, freaky, and all sorts of awesome.
Overall, ‘Fallen’ is an upturn for TITANS compared to the last couple of episodes. It has caught my attention once again. I look forward to E.L._.O, and the remaining episodes of season 2 of TITANS.
