Marvel’s Loki is reportedly adding a new star to its cast. According to Variety, Yesterday star Sophia Di Martino is in talks to join Tom Hiddleston in the highly anticipated series.
Loki will see Hiddleston reprise his role as the God of Mischief under the direction of Kate Herron (Sex Education) and executive producer Michael Waldron (Rick & Morty). The show’s plot will have the character pop up throughout human history, influencing historical events.
As of now, Di Martino’s role is unknown, but reports claim it was highly contested as the actress beat out several other stars. Production on Loki is set to begin next year in early 2020, meaning more about Di Martino’s character and the series should soon be revealed.

Hiddleston’s series is one of many original series Marvel Studios is developing for Disney+, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk. The series will allow a number of characters to develop like never before and will introduce new ones to the MCU who will then segway into the films.
Loki will be directly tied into Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. This makes sense given the version of Loki appearing in the series will be from the alternate timeline created when Loki stole the Tesseract in the past during the events of Avengers: Endgame.
