‘The Good Place’ Star D’Arcy Carden To Lead ‘A League Of Their Own’ Series At Amazon

In March 2018, Amazon announced its intentions to develop a series based on the 1992 film A League Of Their Own. As first reported by Variety, D’Arcy Carden is set for a starring role in the series.
Carden has been stealing the show in episodes of the critically-acclaimed NBC sitcom The Good Place in 2016. Her role as Janet, a programmed guide and knowledge bank has been the catalyst for the series even as it heads into its final season. Additionally, the actress has had recurring roles in HBO’s Barry and Comedy Central’s Broad City. However, this will be the first time she leads her own series.
A League of Their Own originally premiered in 1992. Starring Tom Hanks, Madonna, and Geena Davis, the film focuses on a professional all-female baseball league that springs up in the middle of World War II. Moreover, the film grossed over $132.4 million worldwide and was generally met with positive reviews.
