‘Swamp Thing’ Architect Len Wiseman To Direct ‘John Wick’ Spinoff

Lionsgate has enlisted a horror veteran to direct their upcoming John Wick spinoff film. According to Deadline, Swamp Thing director Len Wiseman will helm Ballerina, which focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family.
Wiseman is best known for his work on the Underworld franchise. His other directing credits include Live Free or Die Hard and the 2012 remake Total Recall, starring Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale. In recent years, Wiseman has found a resurgence in television, directing episodes of Fox’s Lucifer, Sleepy Hollow, and The Gifted.

Ballerina has a script by Shay Hatten, whose credits include John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and the Zack Snyder-helmed Army of the Dead. The film is produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, with franchise star Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski also involved in some capacity.
