‘Titans’ S2, E3: ‘Ghosts’ Review – “A Shallow Dive Into The Past”

“The old Titans reluctantly return to Titans Tower to strategize against an old enemy. But the secrets of the Titans’ past threaten to tear apart this newly formed team from within.” – TITANS S2, E3 ‘Ghosts’ Synopsis
This is a non-spoiler review for the third episode of TITANS Season 2 ‘Ghosts’. Check out our spoiler review on our YouTube channel or catch up with our review of the second episode, ‘Rose’, HERE.
The plot work in this episode is phenomenal. There’s a lot of doors opened, and this episode feels very much like a hallway you’re going through to open said doors. Also, this episode has a lot of backstory, with hidden clues that leave the viewer asking questions. Garth and Jason feel like two different viewers of this episode, the one who says ‘oh cool we’ll find out later’, and ‘nooo, you’re gonna tell me now’. It’s a great way to have the audience feel included in the episode. Kori is going to be a very interesting character as this season goes on. Tamaran has come into the mix, and that just screams backdoor curve all the way. It will be fun to see this play out.
Rachel’s character is still being built up, you can tell. The comics are coming more into play, with most of the characters on the show. TITANS is firm on what it is meant to be, and it is a comic book show full of badass kid superheroes who are struggling with who they are. Rose is still going strong and trying to find her place in the team. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Brenton are getting along great, with some killer chemistry. Still pulling for Kori-Dick though.
The villain costumery has far and wide improved from last season. Deathstroke’s look is killer, and Doctor Light looks fairly accurate to the comic book. Slade Wilson has said less than fifty words in his total appearances, and yet he still has a genuinely scary presence. I can’t wait to see more of him. And after the cliffhanger in this episode, we absolutely will see it next episode. Can’t wait!
Rating: 8.5/10
