‘Arrow’ Star Katie Cassidy Rodgers Pitched ‘Birds Of Prey’ Series To The CW

With Arrow ending after its eighth season, The CW Network is looking for a new TV series to replace it. One of the show’s cast members, Katie Cassidy Rodgers has revealed that she made a pitch to the network about a potential replacement.
Cassidy Rodgers has an idea that The CW may not need to look further than its current Arrowverse cast. She proposed doing a show that would focus on the current female superheroes in the Arrowverse. You can check out what Cassidy Rodgers revealed to Newsarama about pitching to the CW about a potential Birds of Prey TV series:
“I’ve pitched it. I think they should. It’s time for women. Come on, we’ve got this.”
The Arrowverse is no stranger to the Birds of Prey team as they featured across multiple episodes on Arrow. It is an intriguing idea and maybe worth looking deeper into as there is a new player in the Arrowverse. Ruby Rose will be getting her own series this fall and will be playing in the titular role, Batwoman. Cassidy Rodgers was motivated to make the pitch as she will be making her directorial debut in Arrow season eight, episode 3:
“I’ll be directing 803, which I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. I’m really excited about that. I actually went through the WB program over hiatus, director program, and it’s a two-month program and I’ve learned so much.”
Cassidy Rodgers was able to gain the confidence that she needed after participating in Warner Bros.’ program. It will be interesting to see if the third episode of the final season of Arrow will be received well by fans or not. It will also be interesting to see if Cassidy Rodgers’ pitch gets the green light or not down the road. Warner Bros has Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn arriving in theaters in 2020.
