‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Star Michael Rooker Joins The Cast Of ‘Fast & Furious 9’

The Fast Family is getting a little larger in the franchise’s ninth installment. As first reported by Deadline, Michael Rooker has joined the cast of the upcoming Fast & Furious 9.
Best known for his role as Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy, Rooker joins the cast mid-production. Currently, all that is known of his role is that his name is Buddy. Die-hard fans are already speculating that he will portray the film’s antagonist.
Rooker is jumping in on an already stacked ensemble. Series regulars Vin Deisel, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and Michelle Rodriguez are on-board to return. Additionally, Jordana Brewster will return to the franchise for the first time since Fast 7, and more recent additions Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren set to reprise their roles.
It was also recently announced that 16-time WWE Champion John Cena will be joining the franchise as well. However his, like Rooker’s, character’s role is still currently unknown.
