‘John Wick’ Director Overseeing New ‘Birds of Prey’ Action Scenes

Chad Stahelski, director of John Wick 1-3, will oversee second unit direction for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) according to THR.
The action-centric director will be present for additional action scenes for the film. The movie finished principal photography and is getting ready for reshoots in the following months. Cathy Yan is making her superhero movie debut and bringing Stahelski in as second unit director will relieve some of the first time pressures for her.
Stahelski made a name for himself in the stunt community on such films as 300, Jumper and The Matrix before directing the 2014 breakout hit John Wick.
The movie sees the continuation of Harley Quinn’s story following her debut in 2016’s Suicide Squad. This time, she’ll be teaming up with fellow heroes Black Canary and Huntress to protect a young Cassandra Cain from the villainous Black Mask.
