Henry Golding In Talks To Star As Snake Eyes In ‘G.I. Joe’ Spinoff

Crazy Rich Asians breakout star Henry Golding continues to be a hot commodity in Hollywood. The 32-year-old actor is currently in negotiations with Paramount to star in the G.I. Joe movie spinoff, Snake Eyes.
According to The Wrap, Golding is currently in talks to star as Snake Eyes. Robert Schwentke, best known for Red and R.I.P.D., will direct the spinoff. Beauty and the Beast screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the screenplay. This would be Golding’s first role in an action film so it will be intriguing to see what he can do.
The story will focus on Snake Eyes trying to become a member of a ninja clan in Japan called the Arashikage Clan. The group has a reputation for being able to perform impossible tasks as ninja assassins in the shadows.
Snake Eyes will be the third live-action film to follow G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The Rise of the Cobra starring Channing Tatum made $300 million and Retaliation starring Dwayne Johnson made $375.7 million, respectively. Paramount is hoping that Golding is the right star to help lead the future of the franchise. Golding would take over the role for Ray Park, who previously starred in the first two G.I. Joe films as Snake Eyes.
