Valkryie Confirmed LGTBQ+ In ‘Thor 4’
At Marvel’s panel in the famous Hall H of San Diego Comic Con, the fourth installment of Thor had a multitude of announcements, including the future of a certain Queen of Asgard.
Tessa Thompson, who played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and was bestowed the role of Queen of New Asgard by the god of thunder in Avengers: Endgame, said earlier at the panel that one of Valkyrie’s first steps as “King is to find her queen”. This fits in well with the movie’s official title, Thor: Love and Thunder, which will also be following Thor’s post-endgame role in the MCU as he explores life after the Avengers. It could be speculated that Thor will be the one to assist Valkyrie in the search for an appropriate suitor to take her side.
This is one of the multiple announcements this evening of Marvel’s efforts to diversify the MCU with LGBTQ+ characters as well as characters of color. Taika Waititi is also confirmed to return as director, alongside Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release in November of 2021.
